Memories. Some of them are so much fun, that you want to bring them up every once in a while. Sometimes they just come up when you're doing something else, and are reminded of that memory.
Recently, I asked my hubby to blow out a candle, and he said, "as long as there's no rubber band involved, right?!?". And, so, we were reminded of a memory that makes us burst out into laughter everytime.
Back when we were newlyweds, we had a young couple that we were best buds with. Our friendship started way before dating, then blossomed, went through a lot of crazy transitions, and life- and we survived it all still being great friends.
We spent a lot of time with each other then- practically living at each other's houses, and carpooling everywhere we went (school, church, Walmart, grocery shopping, to the bank, etc...).
One of those times we were dwelling at their place, and sitting around their coffee table. And that's when it happened. My husband had a rubberband in his hand. My girlfriend had a 3 wick candle burning. He decided to see what would happen if he tried to extinguish the flame with his rubberband. Hot wax went flying! Her hubby was down on the floor, and got splattered {ouch!}... but all we saw was her new coffee table being splattered with the wax. It was so funny! Not to her, at first. But eventually, it all just became funny. And we laughed. And we keep laughing about it, even up until now.
It's a great memory that we share with our dear friends, the Owens. Love you guys. Miss you, too. I'm glad that my hubby learned his lesson to not use rubberbands to extinguish flames on *your* coffee table! lol.
